Noneto de Casa might be defined as a group of Brazilian Instrumental Music, but beyond this general definition they are an innovative and creative nonet ensemble, not only regarding its performers but also in their compositions and arrangements. As Fabio Torres (Trio Corrente), a Grammy award winner, once said: “They are young musicians and their sound is fresh without being raw. It is easy to recognize their personality coming to life among their influences”.
The band was formed by a group of friends that studied together at the Conservatory of Tatuí’s Jazz and Brazilian Music program. Since 2010, these nine musicians are exploring the mixture of Brazilian rhythms under the influence of prestigious musicians, such as Maria Schneider, Egberto Gismonti and Dave Holland.
In their six years of activity, Noneto de Casa has played in several concerts and festivals, in Brazil and Latin America. They have also recorded three albuns, and currently a fourth album is being produced solely with compositions of the distinguished multi-instrumental musician Hermeto Pascoal.
